Who is responsible

This site is run by Yukio Mizuta. For anything related to your data, write to yukio.mizuta@protonmail.com.

Hosting

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA). When you load a page, GitHub’s servers process your IP address and basic request data (browser, time, requested page) to deliver the site and keep it secure. This is necessary to show you the site at all (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). See GitHub’s privacy statement.

If you click Accept on the cookie banner, the site loads Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) to count visits and see which essays are read. Until you accept, nothing from Google is loaded.

  • What is collected: pages viewed, time on page, referring site, approximate location (country/city), device and browser type, and a random identifier stored in a cookie. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.
  • Cookies set: _ga and _ga_<ID>, which expire after up to 2 years.
  • Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG).
  • Transfers outside the EU: data may be processed by Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
  • Retention: user-level and event-level analytics data is kept for 2 months and then deleted automatically by Google Analytics. Aggregated statistics (e.g. total page views) contain no personal data and may be kept longer.

You can withdraw your consent at any time via Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawing deletes the analytics cookies and stops Google Analytics from loading. More in Google’s privacy policy.

Your choice on this device

Your cookie choice (accepted or rejected) is saved in your browser’s local storage under cookie_consent, so the banner doesn’t appear on every visit. It never leaves your device.

Fonts and the Zap button

Fonts and the script for the Zap button are served from this site itself, not from third-party servers. If you click Zap, your browser connects to Nostr relays and to the Lightning wallet you choose to send the payment; those services are outside this site’s control.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your data, to object to it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
